Steps on a Training Grant Application

The application process for Workforce1 Individual Training Grants (ITGs) is selective and includes:

• Meeting eligibility requirements: You must have participated in SBS services within the last six months and meet education and experience requirements.
• Registering at a Workforce1 Career Center: You must register in person at a Workforce1 Career Center in one of the five boroughs.
• Taking a skills test: You must take a skills test after registering.
• Meeting with a career counselor: You must meet with a career counselor after taking the skills test.
• Research courses: You must research courses in the NYC Training Guide.
• Submit Documents: Provide your school letter to Workforce1 so they can process your voucher application.
• Schedule Your Study: Once you get your voucher, contact me to schedule your study session.

Success is based on your: eligibility, needs, skill level, and prospects for successfully completing the program and getting a job in the field. It takes 6-8 weeks to receive your grant to start your training.
